v1.36: You Asked, We Listened
We heard you, loud and clear. You have been telling us that you want Shiba Story Go to be more free-to-play friendly, and with v1.36 we are making a big move in that direction. A large portion of the game that used to cost real money is now priced in Gems, the currency you earn just by playing.
Outfits, chapter offers, Gold packs, the Fortune Teller, the new Loadout Manager, refresh bundles, and more have all moved from dollars to Gems. A large part of the store is now something you can earn your way to, not something you have to buy. On top of that, Energy regenerates faster, so you spend more of your time actually playing.
As we settle into this model, our release cadence will shift toward polish and stability over brand-new features. We are committed to keeping the game running well and to continuing to listen to your feedback. Thank you for playing, for pushing us on this, and for being part of the journey.

The Gem Shift: What Moved
The core of v1.36 is a single idea: if you are playing the game, you should be earning your way to most of what the game sells. Gems are the currency you collect from chapters, events, daily play, and rewards. We moved the bulk of the store onto that currency.
Here is what now costs Gems instead of real money:
- Outfits and cosmetics. Black Mage, Dragon Knight, Gunslinger, Raincoat, and the Shinobu outfit are all Gem purchases now. Looking the part is no longer a credit-card decision.
- Chapter offers. The entire chapter offer range, the milestone chapter popups, the defeat-recovery offers, the Dino mount line and its star upgrades, and the unlimited offer all moved to Gems.
- Gold and the Fortune Teller. Gold packs, the Gold and Silver chests, and Fortune Teller draws (tiers 2 through 7) are now Gem-priced.
- Refresh bundles. Energy, chest, pet-egg, and relic-dust refresh bundles (the mid and upper tiers) now cost Gems.
- Try-buy gear and the first Comet mount pack are Gem-priced as well.
The through-line: the things you reach for as you progress, like cosmetics, chapter boosts, Gold, draws, and refreshes, are now things you can grind toward, not things you have to buy.
The Loadout Manager Is Now a Gem Unlock
We want to call this one out directly, because it is the clearest example of us listening.
In v1.35 the Loadout Manager, which lets you save and swap up to five Equipment loadouts for different game modes, launched as a real-money in-app purchase. The feedback was immediate and fair: a quality-of-life tool that good players lean on every day should not sit behind a paywall.
In v1.36, the Loadout Manager is unlockable with Gems. Same feature, earnable currency. If you bought it already, thank you.
Energy Regenerates Faster
Moving purchases to Gems only matters if you can actually play enough to earn them. So we sped up the clock.
- Base Energy regen drops from one point every 24 minutes to one every 10 minutes. That is more than twice the natural Energy over the same stretch of real time.
- The practical effect: more Adventure and Dungeon runs per day without spending anything, which in turn means more Gems flowing in from play. The faster economy and the faster Energy are designed to reinforce each other.
Rewarded Ads Stay Optional
A quick note on ads, since it came up alongside the paywall feedback.
Rewarded ads remain in the game as a free, opt-in way to earn a little extra: an energy top-up, an extra chest, a pet-egg pull. They are never required to progress, and there is no ad you have to sit through to play. Watch one if you want the bonus; ignore them entirely and the game plays the same.
The Arena: A PvP Sneak Preview
We have never had true player-vs-player in Shiba Story Go. The Arena changes that, and it is the biggest competitive addition the game has ever had. Here is your first sneak preview.
- Take on other players. Put your team up against rosters built by real players and find out how your build truly stacks up.
- Climb the leaderboard. Win battles and rise through the ranks against the rest of the community.
- It ships inside v1.36, but the doors stay shut until a future unlock. Consider this your heads-up.
- Rewards are still to come. We will share what climbing the Arena earns you closer to launch.
This is just a sneak preview, so we are keeping the rest under wraps for now. The full picture and the rules will be revealed when the Arena launches. Start planning the roster you want to bring, because the moment it opens, the climb begins.
How We Balance Now
We keep this section in every patch because how the game gets made should not be a mystery. This one was as much an economy decision as a balance one.
- We read the feedback directly. This change did not come from a spreadsheet. It came from reviews, Discord threads, and support tickets all saying the same thing. We took the loudest, most consistent piece of player feedback we have ever received and acted on it.
- Days, not months. From decision to shipped, the economy rework moved inside a single patch cycle. When the call is clear, we move fast.
- Thank you. You told us, plainly and repeatedly, that the game asked for too much money in too many places. We heard you. This is us listening. Keep telling us where it still does not feel right. The loop only works because you are in it.
