v1.32: The Marketplace

The Marketplace don open, and the adventure don tighten. Two big moves this patch. First one, the biggest system wey we ever ship: real player-to-player trading, where you go set price and sell Equipment directly to other players (only Limited Raid Gear for now, and only gear wey you never modify). Second one, the main loop itself: every long 60-day chapter don become 30 days wey you fit finish for short sitting, with Auto-Advance to carry you reach the key decisions and complete overhaul of Adventure choices so those decisions land cleaner. On top of that: Monster Codex wey go pay you Gems, new Hollow Warden boss for Guild Raid Level 24, Dutch support, and plenty combat and UI fixes.

Designer Deep Dive

The rest of this page na the long version: the why behind each change for this patch, and how to get the most from the new systems. Skip to any section by tapping any link for the summary above.

The Marketplace

We don want real trading for Shiba Story for long time, and we want to do am carefully. Player economy easy to open but very hard to un-break, so 1.32 dey open am on purpose with training wheels: narrow set of tradeable gear, clear rules about wetin fit and no fit sell, and automatic safety nets so say mistake no go cost you anything. We prefer to start small and widen am as we learn instead of open the floodgates and spend three patches cleaning up.

How trading dey work

  • Open the Marketplace to set your own prices, list Equipment, and manage your active listings.
  • Other players fit browse and buy wetin you list. When item sell, you go receive payment in Market Credits.
  • Only Limited Raid Gear Set pieces qualify for the Marketplace at this time. This na the gear wey we feel comfortable to put into live economy first. We go look at widening the pool for future patches once we see how trading dey behave.

Tradeable vs Soulbound

The single most important rule for the whole system: modifying a piece of gear dey bind am to you forever. We build am this way so the trading economy go stay grounded in fresh, unmodified gear instead of half-leveled hand-me-downs, and so nobody go accidentally sell the item wey dem spend one week upgrading.

  • Equipment wey you merge or upgrade go become Soulbound and e no fit trade again.
  • Only unmodified Equipment carry the Tradeable tag and dey eligible to list for the Marketplace.
  • New warning dey protect Tradeable items from accidental upgrades, so you no go lose the ability to sell a piece without meaning to.

Market Credits

  • Selling for the Marketplace go pay you in Market Credits.
  • Credits fit convert to Gems.
  • You fit also buy Market Credits directly from the Shop if you want to spend before you don sell.

Safety nets

  • Expired listings dey refunded to your inbox automatically. If something no sell for its listing window, you go get am back. Nothing ever lost to expired listing.

The Marketplace na brand new and the most complex thing for the game, so expect some rough edges for this first release. We get list of known issues for the top of this page wey we dey actively work through, including slow purchase times and few display quirks. If you hit something wey no dey on that list, abeg tell us for Discord.

Tighter Adventure: Less Grind, Better Decisions

This na the other headline of 1.32, not footnote. We take hard look at the main loop and rebuild am around one idea: spend less time grinding and more time on the decisions wey dey make a run yours. Three changes dey pull same direction β€” shorter chapters, faster path to each decision, and choices wey worth stopping for.

Snappier chapters wey you fit finish for short sitting

  • Every chapter wey run 60 days don become 30 days. This dey continue the chapter-length work wey we start earlier this year, and na the biggest cut yet. The long chapters had turned to attrition instead of epic journey. Cutting them in half go keep things moving and get you to the next new thing faster.
  • The pacing don retune so the trim dey read as momentum, not lost progress: full chapter now fit finish for short sitting.

Auto-Advance dey carry you to the decisions

Shorter chapters na only half the fix. The other half na not making you tap through the stretches in between.

  • Fast Pass now dey include Auto-Advance. With am active, the game go progress you automatically through the routine stretches and stop at the key decision points, so your attention go to the choices wey matter instead of the busywork between them.

Adventure choices, completely overhauled

Adventure choices na the heartbeat of a run, and the old UI could not keep up with the more interesting decisions wey we want to give you.

  • Adventure choices get completely new UI, built to present more complex decisions clearly instead of cramming everything into the old format.
  • More room for richer choices means we fit write better forks: real trade-offs, clearer stakes, and decisions wey actually dey read at a glance. With Auto-Advance dropping you straight onto each one, the choices na where your run dey decided.

Guild Raids: Level 24 and the Hollow Warden

Guild Raids dey get their next rung this patch, and something new dey guard am. The Hollow Warden na no brute. Na attrition fight, built to punish parties wey try to grind am down slowly and to reward parties wey commit to fast, focused pressure.

The Hollow Warden (Guild Raid Level 24)

New enemy, the Hollow Warden, dey hold the newly added Guild Raid Level 24. Few things wey worth knowing before your guild go tackle am:

  • E dey weak to Light. Light builds go hit am for noticeably more damage, and na the cleanest way through the fight.
  • No bring Dark. The Warden dey shrug Dark damage off completely and, in fact, e dey heal from am. Dark builds dey work against you here.
  • E dey sustain itself. The Warden dey summon help, dey regenerate, and dey cleanse wetin you stack on am, so slow chip damage go stall out. Build to burst am down inside its windows rather than out-lasting am.

Guild Scrap na now Relics only

  • Guild Scrap don update to accept only Relics. Scrap value dey determined by the Relic's star level, so higher-star Relics dey worth more.

Other Guild improvements

  • E don become clearer when donated Equipment dey ready to claim for Guilds.
  • Guild Raid Rush past events no longer dey stack up for the Hero's Path screen when their rewards dey left uncollected.
  • Clearing lower Guild Raid level for new week no longer dey revoke access to higher levels wey your guild don already earn. This was real progression bug, and e don fix.

The Monster Codex

Shiba dey fight plenty strange things. Now you fit keep record of all of them, and we dey pay you to fill am out.

  • The Codex now dey track every monster wey Shiba fight.
  • Uncover each one to earn Gems. Working through the chapters with eye on your Codex na now its own small reward loop.

Quality of Life

Smaller comforts wey dey add up.

  • Pet Quick Enhance don rework. You fit now tap hexagon level icon directly to enhance a Pet straight to that level for single tap, instead of stepping through one level at a time.
  • Dutch localization don add to the game.
  • Push Notification toggle don add to the Settings screen, so you fit control whether the game fit reach you.
  • The AFK button for the Home screen now dey show elapsed time, so you fit see how long you don dey earn at a glance.
  • Guild member profiles and player profiles fit now be viewed directly from the leaderboard.

How We Balance Now

We dey keep this section for every patch because we want to dey honest about how the game actually dey get made. Balance used to be art with little telemetry. Now na testing and player data first, with the community in the loop.

  • Thousands of test runs per change. New content like the Hollow Warden dey go through real, fully built loadouts against the actual fight before the numbers ship. We dey read the distribution: the median run, the worst case, and the runaway tail, not single lucky clear.
  • Telemetry on real player choices. We dey watch wetin you equip, wetin dey win, and wetin dey get equipped and immediately dropped. For brand-new system like the Marketplace, that live data na exactly why we dey start narrow: we want to watch the economy with real players inside am before we widen wetin dey tradeable.
  • Days, not months. Wetin used to take a season of post-launch tuning we fit now diagnose for days. Starting the Marketplace small na wetin dey let us move that fast without risking the whole economy.
  • Thank you. Real share of the fixes and tuning for this patch dey trace back to things wey you report and builds wey you come up with wey we never imagine. The loop only dey work because you dey inside am. Please keep breaking things in creative ways and dey tell us about am.

Underlying Bug Fixes (player-visible)

The fixes wey dey change how the game actually plays, not just how e dey look. These na the "wait, that was not supposed to happen" moments wey we track down this cycle.

  • Magma Warlord, corrected. The Warlord was implemented with wrong elemental resistances, so e was soaking damage type wey e was never designed to resist. Its resistances now dey read the way dem was meant to. Separately, when its Frozen and Slow were sizzled off, the game was accidentally penalizing the hero wey had applied them. That was straight implementation bug, not intent, and e don fix: clearing the Warlord's chill no longer dey count against you.
  • Guild Raid party members now dey receive their Expertise skills from their equipped loadout, instead of going into the fight without them.
  • Casters no longer dey slide across the screen during Guild Raid 22.
  • Guild Raid party members no longer dey play their defeat animations when you resume a Guild Raid mid-battle.
  • Relics fit be upgraded from the Inventory without equipping them first.
  • Monster Hunt no longer dey leave players stuck after Stage 5.
  • The Luck stat now dey visible for the Stats panel, including mount Luck previews, and Dodge and Burst DMG icons now dey show up correctly.
  • The Guardian Spirit tooltip now correctly dey describe the skill's duration, so the Tank set 4-piece dey read honestly.
  • Gold amounts shown during Adventure mode now dey match the results screen.
  • Today's Tasks: tapping the Relic prompt now dey open the Relics page directly instead of the Equipment page.
