v1.37: Whiteout

v1.37 na content-and-fairness patch. Di big news na Whiteout, one brand-new Guild Raid wey dem build to punish di builds wey everybody dey run right now, wit one finale wey you no go see am dey come. For real.

Around am, we fix two things wey di community don dey right about for a while: guild leveling bin dey tuned for guilds four times big pass how dem be now, and Tank builds no get any way to win one fight wey get timer. Di two of dem get real fix for dis patch, no be band-aid.

  • Guild Raid 26: Whiteout. One new frozen raid wit Cryomancers, Gargoyles, and one Yeti finale, plus one special Relic chase wit boosted odds for Luck and Magic Resist rolls.
  • Guild leveling now dey 4x faster. Guilds bin dey level up too slow, so dem don cut every XP threshold to quarter of di old value. Every guild level go up or stay di same for day one. No guild dey lose anything.
  • Guardian's Wrath: Tanks now dey ramp damage. Di Tank Shield 4-piece bonus dey grow your damage every round wey you survive, so Tank builds fit finally win timed battles.
  • Loadout quality of life. Loadouts now dey remember di Title wey you equip, dem dey stay separate for each server, and di game go prompt you to switch go your Raid Loadout wen you dey enter one raid.
  • Guild Raid contribution board. After every Guild Raid run, one post-run board dey show everybody contribution, and dem now dey credit healing to di healer wey cast am.
  • Guild Raid reward floor. Guilds must now score at least 1,000,000 for one week Guild Raid to qualify for dat week rewards, and one notification go tell you wen your guild no qualify instead make you dey guess.
  • Tower defeats now dey put you for di Rivals board. Wen you lose one Tower battle, e now dey put you for di Rivals leaderboard for your highest cleared floor. You still get to fight di battle, but defeat no dey comot you from di board completely again.
  • Monster Hunt roster change. Di Lockbox Lurker don replace Goreish, wit standard skill picks wen you enter.
  • Challenges expertise parity. Pets and mounts now dey start Challenges for di same expertise level as Adventure.

  • Bugs wey we find for final testing hold di Arena back from launch, and v1.37 don fix dem. We dey hope say we go open di doors during dis patch, so make you ready your roster.

🐞 Bug Fixes 🐞

  • Guild Raid healing totals no dey show zero again, and di Healing column dey credit di caster.
  • Teammates dey get dia stamina back wen one Guild Raid fail to start.
  • Reward mail now dey reach guilds wey get special characters for dia names.
  • Global chat no dey auto-scroll again wen you dey read older messages.
  • Party selection now dey show companions' Raid Loadout stats instead of dia live gear.
  • Guild Raids 23 through 25 dey run fewer enemies at once for low-memory devices, and di game now dey recover well instead make e crash wen memory low.
  • Di Lifebinder Ultimate biome transformation dey render more efficiently.

Guild Raid 26: Whiteout

Every raid dey teach di game something about your builds. Whiteout na di raid wey learn.

  • One frozen gauntlet. Six days of blizzard-sweep encounters against Cryomancers, Gargoyles, and worse. Bring answers, no be just damage.
  • Dem build am to counter di meta. Whiteout encounters dey designed to punish di dominant strategies. If your guild don dey coast on one comp, dis raid go ask questions.
  • Di Yeti finale. Di raid dey end wit one Yeti encounter wey no be like any boss wey we don ship before. We go let you discover why. Keep your eyes open. E no go help.
  • One special Relic chase. Whiteout dey drop im own line of Relics wit heavily boosted odds for Luck and Magic Resist primary rolls, stats wey di normal drops for dis raid no fit roll at all. Dem dey drop from di finale and companion loot, and dem still dey complete your normal sets.
  • Clearer choices. Adventure choice events for di raid get one copy and icon pass so di tradeoffs go dey readable before you commit.

Guild Leveling, Rescaled for Real Guilds

We no dey happy wit how slow guilds dey level up, and di data back dat feeling: no guild for any server ever reach level 8, and three out of four active guilds dey stuck for level 3 or below. Dat no be difficulty curve, dat na wall. So we tear am down.

  • Every guild XP threshold now dey exactly one quarter of im old value. Guild leveling dey 4x faster across di board.
  • Levels only dey go up. Your guild level dey come from XP wey e don already earn, so on patch day guilds dey jump forward, never backward. We project say di median active guild go land around level 4, and di top guilds go finally push into levels 7 through 9.
  • Nothing about how you dey earn guild XP change. Di ruler bin wrong, so we fix di ruler.

Guardian's Wrath: Survival Dey Turn to Damage

Tank builds get one problem wey we fit measure: everything wey dem dey do na reactive. Deflects and counters only dey fire wen something hit you, and di Tank Shield 4-piece na once-per-adventure death save. For any battle wit round limit, one Tank build na DPS check wey you no fit win. Monster Hunt leaderboards dey score dia survival as zero.

  • Di Tank Shield 4-piece bonus now dey ramp your damage every round wey you survive. Every round wey end dey add one stack of bonus damage, up to 8 stacks, or 12 stacks if you dey run di Guardian role.
  • Di death save dey stay. Guardian's Wrath dey add on top of di existing 4-piece revive, e no dey replace am.
  • Tanks dey remain tanks. Di damage ceiling dey tuned to sit below di Hunter set ramp, so for raids di Tank set dey stay survival-first. Wetin change na say timed battles now fit dey win, and your Monster Hunt score dey reflect di fight wey you actually fight.
  • We dey watch dis one. Dis na first pass, we do am conservative on purpose. We dey monitor how Tank builds dey perform after di change and we fit continue to buff if dem still dey fall short.

Arena Progress Report

Di Arena, our first-ever player-versus-player mode, suppose don dey your hand by now. Honest update: final testing bring out bugs wey we no ready to launch wit, so we hold di doors shut. v1.37 don fix dem, and we dey hope to open di Arena during dis patch.

Wetin we fix before we open di doors:

  • Battle playback now get speed and skip controls, because to dey watch one fight wey you don already win for 1x speed no be anybody idea of fun.
  • Weekly seasons now dey score correctly, including fights against players wey no login since di reset, and trophy displays dey reflect di season boundary.
  • Di Arena ticket flow get full pass: purchases dey confirm well, and your gem and ticket balances dey visible for where you dey spend dem.

If everything go well, di Arena dey open during v1.37. Ready your roster, because di moment e open, di climb dey start.


How We Dey Balance Now

We dey keep dis section for every patch because how dem dey make di game no suppose be mystery.

  • We fix rulers, no be players. Di guild XP change and di Tank set change come from di same place: measurement show say di system dey grade players against one curve wey no match di game again. For di two cases we change di curve, no be your progress.
  • Production data make di call. No guild for level 8 across every server no be opinion, na fact. Wen di data dey one-sided like dat, di fix dey ship for di next patch.
  • Whiteout na di counterweight. Make guilds level faster and make tanks hit harder dey loosen di game. One raid wey dem build to counter di meta dey tighten am back. Dat push and pull na on purpose.
